What is QEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalography)?
We incorporate objective brain function tests as an adjunctive decision-making tool in the evaluation of brain function for those who are concerned about slight forgetfulness, poor concentration, poor work performance, or future diseases such as dementia. One of the most prominent of these is QEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalography), a technique that has been developed since the 1980s as a result of recent advances in computers and brain science. It is much more accurate than the conventional EEG used to differentiate between epilepsy and other neurological disorders, or the brain function tests based on cerebral blood flow, such as optical topography (NIRS), which is mainly used in some medical institutions as an auxiliary diagnosis for psychiatric disorders, and provides a detailed report on the individual brain condition. The results can be used to understand the state of the brain of each individual with a detailed report.

About the “AI-integrated QEEG” equipment used in our hospital
The clinic has introduced the “AI-based Integrated QEEG” device. It is the first in the world to utilize an Asian brain database, and is packed with next-generation technology that improves accuracy through technology such as the introduction of rapid and accurate analysis technology using AI (artificial intelligence). In addition, HRV (heart rate variability analysis, a type of stress level analysis) and dementia prediction can be simultaneously measured and analyzed, making it possible to check an individual's brain and body as an integrated QEEG that goes beyond the framework of QEEG.
This state-of-the-art device has been certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a Class 2 medical device (the second most important medical device from the top). Incidentally, QEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalography) has been approved by the U.S. FDA (Food and Drug Administration) as an adjunctive diagnostic tool for ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), and is being used in clinical research. (*) However, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) does not recommend QEEG as a standard method in the diagnosis of ADHD.
(*) Since QEEG is not yet approved as a medical device in Japan and is still in the clinical trial stage, it is treated as a research and complementary/alternative medicine in our hospital.

Integrated QEEG (Quantitative Electroencephalography) reveals
It can be used to predict dementia (graphically representing future risk as a percentage).
・ Detects in detail areas of brain function that are faulty and areas that are normal.
・ Simultaneously measures stress levels and autonomic nervous system function, including HRV (heart rate variability analysis), and integrates these with EEG results for deeper analysis of brain function. HRV (heart rate variability analysis) and other checks of stress and autonomic function can be simultaneously measured and integrated with EEG results for deeper analysis of brain function
・ PBM (near infrared stimulation device) and tDCS (transcranial direct current stimulation device) protocol settings can be used as guidelines and linked to treatment when necessary
・ QEEG (quantitative EEG testing) can be used for the treatment of ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder), depression, anxiety (including PTSD), dementia, schizophrenia, headache and other pain disorders. Evidence has been accumulated in studies of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), depression, anxiety (including PTSD), dementia, schizophrenia, headache and other painful disorders, TBI (traumatic brain injury), epilepsy, etc., and several papers have been published.

What is PBM (photobiomodulation) for the brain?
Since around 2016, the removal of amyloid beta, an indicator of dementia, has been reported in animal experiments by exposing the brain to special wavelengths of light and sound called gamma waves. This PBM (photobiomodulation of the brain) is an application of LLLT (low-level laser therapy using near-infrared light) to the head, and aims to improve brain function by applying an optical laser with a specific wavelength to the head.
Currently, research is advancing in countries around the world, and it is expected to be applied to the treatment of various diseases such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, stroke, head injury, developmental disorders, depression, and anxiety. Another feature of this method is that there are very few reports of side effects compared to drugs.
PBM (photobiomodulation) on the brain can be expected to have the following effects
Direct stimulation of mitochondria in brain cells is assumed by this near-infrared stimulation. This will result in improved energy production in the brain, improved cerebral blood flow, reduced inflammation, and improved cognitive function and psychiatric symptoms. In addition, this therapy is attracting attention as an approach to treat not only diseases such as dementia, MCI (mild cognitive impairment), ADHD, depression, and anxiety disorders, but also mild symptoms such as memory loss and poor concentration.

tDCS (transcranial direct current stimulation device) (home type): 200,000 (yen) including tax (purchase)

What is tDCS (transcranial direct current electrical stimulation)?
tDCS is a non-invasive technique that stimulates specific areas of the brain by applying weak direct current to the scalp to achieve various therapeutic effects. By attaching electrodes to specific areas of the scalp and applying a current of approximately 1 mA for approximately 10 to 30 minutes, it is believed to affect the resting membrane potential of brain cells and promote neuroplasticity.
It has the potential to enhance learning ability, memory, and attention, and is being studied in the rehabilitation medicine and mental health fields. It is highly safe, with few serious side effects reported, except for a mild tingling or itching sensation that subsides shortly after the session.
Effects expected from tDCS (transcranial direct current electrical stimulation)
It is expected to be applied in a wide range of fields, including stroke rehabilitation, relief of chronic pain, treatment of addiction, improvement of learning ability, memory, and attention span, and improvement of depression and anxiety disorders. Although it is a relatively new technology, research results have been accumulating rapidly in recent years, and it is a field that is expected to attract a great deal of attention in the future of medicine.
【4】Vagal Healer® (Vagus Nerve Stimulation Device – Thermal & Vibration Type) (Home-Use Model)

Have you ever heard of vagus nerve stimulation therapy (TaVNS)? TaVNS is a method of regulating physical and mental disorders by passing a weak electric current through an electrode placed directly on the auricular branch of the vagus nerve, which is the central pillar of the autonomic nervous system.
This method became famous worldwide after a paper was published that claimed it was effective in treating the aftereffects of corona, but it is also known to suppress inflammation in the entire body. It has also been approved by the U.S. government (FDA) as a treatment for treatment-resistant depression, and has been confirmed in various papers to improve stress, anxiety, and insomnia.
In addition, it has been confirmed in various papers that it improves neural plasticity (the ability to strengthen neural connections) in the frontal lobe and hippocampus, and improves concentration and memory. In addition, chronic pain (stiff shoulders, back pain, migraine, neuralgia, etc.), digestive function (constipation, diarrhea, IBS, anorexia, etc.), and cardiovascular function (high blood pressure, palpitations, arrhythmia) have also been reported to improve.
Nobuhiro Suetake, a part-time physician at our clinic, and Cado, a top manufacturer of design home appliances, have jointly developed and launched the world's first “heat, vibration, and bone-conduction music” type TaVNS “Vegal Healer ®︎”. It is a home-type product, so it can be used easily at any time and any place. If you are interested in this product, please contact us.
【5】Vagal Treatment (Vagus Nerve Stimulation Therapy)

The vagus nerve (Vagus nerve, English: vagus nerve) is one of the 12 pairs of cranial nerves and is also called the X cranial nerve. It is a representative parasympathetic nerve and is distributed in the cervical and thoracic viscera, and even in the abdominal viscera. It has the largest distribution area of any cranial nerve and is composed primarily of parasympathetic fibers, but it also antagonizes the sympathetic nerves and controls the movement and secretion of the vocal cords, heart, gastrointestinal tract, and digestive glands. It has numerous branches and an extremely complex pathway.
The vagus nerve innervates almost all organs except the genital organs, bladder, and descending colon. We offer “Vagal Treatment” (stimulation therapy to the vagus nerve sensory area of the auricle) as a vagus nerve stimulation therapy. Our specialized, highly knowledgeable and skilled therapists use manual techniques, special vibrations, heat, and rolling devices to relieve the auricularis and surrounding muscle groups.
The effectiveness of “Vagal Treatment,” a vagus nerve stimulation therapy, is comparable to the recently popular “Exosome infusion” and “Stem cell culture supernatant infusion,” and its safety has been guaranteed with the establishment of evidence and logic (many related papers).

Hydrogen inhalation (“Suikatsu” home type): 30,000 yen (tax included) for the main unit / 10,000 yen (tax included) for a month's supply of hydrogen generating agent

Hydrogen is gaining attention for its potential to reduce oxidative stress in the body. Both home and outpatient types are available to suit your lifestyle and physical condition. Expectations are also high for fatigue reduction, relaxation effects, and anti-aging.
What is hydrogen inhalation therapy? ~The next generation of care that supports health and wellness from the inside out.
Our bodies produce substances called “reactive oxygen species” due to daily stress, aging, and environmental pollution. While some reactive oxygen species are useful for immunity and metabolism, too much of them can damage cells and cause aging and disease. Among these “bad” reactive oxygen species, substances called “hydroxyl radicals” and “peroxynitrite” are particularly strong and harmful.
This is why hydrogen is attracting attention. Recent research has shown that hydrogen has a selective antioxidant effect that selectively neutralizes only these harmful reactive oxygen species. Moreover, hydrogen has almost no side effects, and is being researched and clinically applied around the world as a new, safe approach to health.
How Hydrogen Inhalation Therapy Works
In hydrogen inhalation therapy, “highly concentrated hydrogen gas” is inhaled using a special device. The hydrogen taken into the body is distributed to cells throughout the body, and combines with unwanted active oxygen to form water (H₂O), which is then discharged out of the body.
Main Research Results and Expected Benefits
According to the latest article reviews*, hydrogen inhalation therapy is gaining attention in the following areas
・Relief from fatigue and anti-aging
・Protective effects on the brain and heart (e.g., reduced risk of stroke and myocardial infarction)
・Reduction of allergies and inflammatory diseases
・Respiratory system support (COPD, asthma, etc.)
・Adjunct therapy in cancer treatment
・Reduction of stress and improved sleep quality

【7】Haikatsu® (Lung Activation)

Breathing is the act of distributing oxygen (energy) to every cell in the body. The autonomic nervous system controls breathing, blood circulation, digestion, and body temperature, and is the “operating system of the entire body” that works 24 hours a day, independent of our will. Breathing is the only one of these that you can consciously control.
The reason why breathing is so important is that many people today do not breathe oxygen properly, and they unknowingly (because they can breathe naturally) take shallow breaths. This is thought to have an enormous negative impact on the autonomic nervous system and immune system due to the lack of ventilation.
Nobuhiro Suetake, a part-time physician at our clinic and a part-time lecturer at Juntendo University Graduate School, has developed the “Lung Life ®︎” training in collaboration with Professor Hiroyuki Kobayashi of Juntendo University, a specialist in intestines and autonomic nerves. Lung Katsudo ®︎" training is an exercise that improves the flexibility of the respiratory muscles around the lungs and allows the rib cage to expand smoothly, enabling strong and long exhalations to occur naturally.
During the global pandemic of the coronary pandemic, attention to “lung activation ®︎,” which activates the vagus nerve, has increased and has been covered by many media outlets. Our part-time trainer, Norifumi Igarashi, is a personal trainer of “Lung Katsu ®︎” and has supported many celebrities and top athletes.
You can do “Lung Katsu ®︎” training by yourself once you get used to it, but personal guidance is ideal for the initial introduction and continuation of the training for a while. If you are interested, please contact us for more information.
